Skater Heaven at Harmony Park - Coburg

A small, quarter court located in Harmony Park, Gaffney St Coburg.

3 backboard slaps.

Hope you can skate!

Pros:

It's located in Harmony Park which has a decent skate park and lots of playground equipment and BBQs. It also has a 1/4 basketball court.

Cons:

The concrete paved area isn't wide enough to shoot threes, and the line markings and ring position are all out of whack. To make matters worse all the paths around the court are gravel which meant that there were stones everywhere.

Edinburgh Gardens Redux - Fitzroy North

Edinburgh Gardens was one of the first court reviews by Asphalt All-Stars, that was back in February of 2011. Back then we gave the court 3 backboard slaps, but a recent adventure to the park has revealed that the local council had been busy!

Full court, in hipster paradise.

4.5 backboard slaps.

Fresh court!

Pros:
Fresh full court, full FIBA markings, flattest surface in Melbourne, nets at both ends. It's right near the toilets and in the middle of the park so there's lots to do. Being in Fitzroy North there are hundreds of bars, pubs and cafes to explore pre and post game.

Cons:
It's a concrete court, and a super smooth court that felt really slippery. Hopefully with a bit of wear it will get a bit grippier. Other than that it is pretty impossible to fault.

Preferred game: 5 on 5 half court. That surface could be a knee and shin killer if you had to run the full length of the court.
